Storm Robotics

Draft — to be reviewed by counsel before public launch.

Terms of Service

Last updated:

These terms are an agreement between you and [Company legal name] ("Storm Robotics", "we", "us"). They cover the web app at app.storm-robotics.com and the program you install on your computer (together, "the service"). By using the service, you agree to them. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data.

What the service does

You teach a robot arm a task by showing it. You move a "leader" arm, a "follower" arm copies it, and cameras film. We label your demonstrations with a vision model, train a robot model on them, and run that model so the arm does the task by itself. You can correct it, and it keeps learning.

Your account

Your data stays yours

Sharing your data with us (optional)

Sharing is off unless you turn it on. If you turn it on:

People and places on camera

Your cameras may film people and places. You must have the right to record everything in view. Don't record anyone who has not agreed to it.

Safety

Robots move, sometimes in ways you don't expect. You are responsible for operating your arm safely:

Models make mistakes. A model that worked before can fail on the next try.

Your API keys and other providers

You bring your own API keys, for example for Dream Labs. We store them encrypted and use them only to run your jobs. You are responsible for any charges your providers bill you. Camera frames and recordings are sent to the model providers your keys point at, under those providers' terms.

Acceptable use

Don't use the service:

We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.

Our software

We own the service. We let you use it, and the program for your computer, to teach and run your robots. If we give you the program's code under an open-source license, that license governs the code. [to confirm]

No warranty

To the extent the law allows, the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We don't promise it will be error-free or always available, or that a model will do a task correctly.

Limits on our liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for harm caused by how your robot is set up or operated. Our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. [to confirm]

Ending your account

You can stop using the service at any time and ask us to delete your account. We then delete what we hold about you. The data in your own Hugging Face account stays yours, and yours to delete. Shared data already used to train a model stays in that model.

Changes

We may change the service or these terms. If a change matters, we will tell you before it takes effect. Using the service after that means you accept the new terms.

Law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of [Jurisdiction].
