Privacy Policy
Last updated:
This policy explains what [Company legal name] ("Storm Robotics", "we", "us") collects when you use the web app at app.storm-robotics.com and the program you install on your computer, and what we do with it. It goes with our Terms of Service.
The short version
- Your robot data lives in a private repository in your own Hugging Face account.
- We process it on our servers to label it and to train and run your models. We keep only what we need to run the service.
- Sharing your data with us is opt-in.
- We use one sign-in cookie. No analytics or advertising cookies.
- We don't sell your personal information. [to confirm]
What we collect
- Account details. Your email address and the basic profile details Hugging Face shares when you sign in with it, such as your name.
- Connection details. The token that connects your Hugging Face account, the key your computer uses to reach the service, and any API keys you add.
- Robot data. Camera video, the arm's joint positions, the task descriptions you type, and the labels, datasets and model records made from them. This includes practice runs and your corrections.
- Live data. While a model drives your arm, the program on your computer streams camera frames and joint positions to us, so the model can run and you can watch.
- Other. Messages you send us, and basic server logs such as IP addresses and request times. [to confirm]
Where your robot data is stored
Your recordings, labels, datasets and trained-model records are stored in a private repository in your own Hugging Face account. To label and train, we make temporary working copies on our servers and delete them when the work is done. We use live frames to run your model and show your live view, and don't keep them after that. [to confirm]
How we use it
- To sign you in and run your account.
- To label your demonstrations, train your models and run them.
- To show your arm's live view and progress in the app.
- To send sign-in emails and messages about your account.
- To keep the service secure and stop abuse.
We don't use your data to train shared models unless you turn on sharing.
Sharing your data with us (optional)
Sharing is off unless you turn it on. If you do, we may use the data you share to train shared base models offered to all users, and for our own research and products. Turning it off stops sharing from then on. Data already used to train a model cannot be removed from that model.
Services that handle your data
We use these providers to run the service. Each handles data under its own terms and privacy policy, and some may process it in other countries.
- Hugging Face: sign-in, storage in your own account, running the vision model, and optional training jobs.
- Dream Labs: training and running robot models.
- Resend: sending sign-in emails.
- Hugging Face Spaces, Vercel and Cloudflare: hosting and DNS.
Camera frames and recordings are sent to the model providers your API keys point at, under those providers' terms. We may also share information when the law requires it.
Your API keys
We store your API keys encrypted and use them only to run your jobs. Deleting your account deletes them.
Cookies
We use one cookie, to keep you signed in. We don't use analytics or advertising cookies.
How long we keep it
- Account and connection details: until you delete your account.
- Temporary working copies: only while a job needs them.
- Server logs: [period to confirm].
Your choices
- Your robot data is in your Hugging Face account. You can view, download or delete it there.
- You can remove our access to your Hugging Face account in your Hugging Face settings.
- You can turn sharing off at any time.
- You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, or to correct it.
- You can ask us to delete your account. We then delete what we hold about you. The data in your Hugging Face account stays yours to delete.
Depending on where you live, you may have more rights over your data. Contact us to use them.
People in your footage
Only record people who have agreed to it. If you appear in someone's footage and want it removed, ask the person who recorded you, or contact us and we will help where we can.
Children
The service is not for people under 16. [to confirm] If we learn we hold data about someone under 16, we delete it.
Security
We store keys encrypted and keep robot data in private repositories. No system is perfectly secure. If you think your account or connect command has leaked, tell us right away.
